The matrix Standard is a national Quality Standard for organisations delivering information, advice and guidance services for learning and/or work. Its purpose is to identify the essential features of successful delivery of any information, advice and guidance service, regardless of context or sector and to provide key indicators by which organisations can measure their current activities. It will, therefore, help organisations to "raise their game" where necessary and help them to keep high standards as well as continuously improve their service. The end result is that organisations are provided with a quality route map for 8 key areas of service delivery (see ‘the criteria’ below) through demonstrating some 40 performance measures - rigorous by any standards. Successful organisations are also presented with the matrix Quality Mark, which can then be used to promote the achievement. More detailed information can be found on the form called "matrix Assessment - the Facts." Download it here.
The following communication was sent to all matrix accredited organisations on 15/09/08.
Dear Colleague,
matrix quality standard for information advice and guidance services
We are writing to update you on some changes in relation to the delivery of the matrix Standard, from April 2009.
As you will be aware, the management and delivery of the Standard is currently undertaken by our two organisations, ENTO and EMQC, under contract from the DIUS.
It is normal Government practice for such contracts to be periodically re-tendered. As the Standard is now well established, it has been decided to tender for a single organisation to manage and deliver the matrix Standard. Invitations to tender will be issued shortly by DIUS for the new body to commence operating from 1 April 2009.
We would like to take this opportunity to assure you that this change will have no effect at all on you as a Client, as all existing arrangements and processes related to the matrix Standard will remain the same.
If you do have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either ENTO (0870 770 2468) or EMQC (01332 866 902)
Yours sincerely,
Tony Green Managing Director, ENTO
Rosie Duncan, Managing Director, EMQC
